Lychakiv Cemetery was founded in the end of the 18th century. Today it numbers over 3000 tombstones, the majority of which present the historic and architectural value.

A lot of prominent sculptors of the past worked to create these masterpieces. They are: G.Witwer, Anton and Johan Shimzer P.Evgelie. Y.Markovs’kij, P.Fitippi and others. A lot of public figures, politicians, historians, artists, writers, singers and composes were buried in Lychakiv Cemetery. I.Franko. M.Shashkevych. I.Krypiakevych. S.Krushel’nyts’ka. O.Ogonovskyj. A.Petrushevych, V.Barvins’kyj. A.Monastyrs’kyj these are the people who developed culture, science and art in Ukraine and far bevond its bounds.
